Zumi studied fashion design and began painting in the streets of
Buenos Aires in 2006 after being introduced to urban artists that
inspired her. She is one of the few female artists to take her work into
the streets of the city.
Taking inspiration from nature and from her day to day life, Zumi
combines idealized versions of flowers, trees and birds in her own
unique natural landscapes. Filled with beautiful pastel colors, her
graceful murals create oases of beauty amidst the crowded and noisy city
streets. Stumbling on one of her pieces delicately draped across a
concrete wall brings to mind ideas of peace, purity, and joy.
Zumi’s art is a beautiful example of the power of street art to
positively affect urban environments and our interactions with them. She
has recently moved to Sao Paolo, where she continues to paint both
independent and collaborative works on the streets and in gallery
settings.
